March towards Islamabad: Strict security arrangements and road closures
The political situation in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, is tense as a major protest march has been planned to demand the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. In view of this situation, the administration has made strict security arrangements in the city.
Police and law enforcement agencies have closed major highways and entry points leading to Islamabad. Containers have been placed on these routes to prevent protesters from entering the city. This measure is causing severe difficulties for citizens in commuting.
Authorities state that these measures have been taken to maintain law and order in the city and to avoid any untoward incidents. A heavy contingent of police has been deployed at various locations in the capital, and Section 144 has been imposed in sensitive areas.
On the other hand, supporters of the political party say that they have the right to protest peacefully for their demands. Workers from across the country have been directed to reach Islamabad, which is also affecting the traffic system in other parts of the country.
Currently, there is also speculation regarding the closure of educational institutions and business centers in the city. The administration has appealed to citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and to cooperate with security agencies.
