Prime Minister Orders Financial Assistance for Small Businesses
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the formulation of a new and comprehensive strategy for the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the country. The primary objective of this initiative is to assist small traders and industrialists who require financial resources to expand their operations.
The Prime Minister has ordered SMEDA, the State Bank of Pakistan, and other private banks to collaboratively develop a plan that makes it easier for small businesses to obtain bank loans. He emphasized that providing financial facilities to these institutions is a crucial need of the hour for the improvement of the economy.
A major objective of this new policy is to increase Pakistan's exports. The government believes that when small businesses have sufficient capital, they will be able to improve the quality of their products. In this way, Pakistani products will be able to compete in the global market and become a source of earning valuable foreign exchange for the country.
According to experts, small and medium enterprises serve as the backbone of any country's economy. If they receive proper support from the government and loans on easy terms, it will not only create new employment opportunities in the country but also lead to a reduction in poverty.
