Kaghan Valley: Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road closed due to landslides
Landslides continue in the northern areas of Pakistan following heavy rains. Recently, the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad (MNJ) road was closed to traffic due to a landslide in the Khanian area of Kaghan Valley, causing severe difficulties for tourists.
As a result of this incident, tourists' vehicles were stranded on the road, and traffic remained suspended for more than an hour. According to the local administration, soil and rocks had slid onto the road due to rain in the mountainous areas, completely blocking the path.
The administration immediately launched relief operations and completed the work of clearing the road with the help of heavy machinery. Officials state that the road has now been reopened for traffic, and tourists can continue their journey toward their destinations.
The Meteorological Department has forecast more rain in the northern areas. In view of this situation, tourists and local travelers have been advised to exercise caution while traveling and to keep weather conditions in mind due to the risk of landslides on mountain routes.
