Islamabad: Agreement Between Police and PTI, Traffic Restored at Chungi No. 26
Following successful negotiations between the police and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders in Islamabad, the ongoing protest at Chungi No. 26 has been ended. After this significant agreement, the closed roads have been reopened, and traffic flow has now been completely restored.
The protest lasted for several hours, causing severe difficulties in commuting between the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The primary objective of the negotiations between the police and political leaders was to maintain law and order and end the distress of ordinary citizens.
According to reports, the traffic system remained disrupted for approximately six hours due to the protest and road closures. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on the roads, causing extreme hardship for commuters and especially for ambulances carrying patients.
Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, and other prominent political leaders participated in the negotiation process. After discussions with police officials, these leaders instructed their workers to disperse peacefully, following which the administration removed the barriers from the roads.
The local administration stated that the situation is now completely under control and all major routes have been opened for the general public. The police have assured citizens that they are taking all necessary measures to maintain law and order to avoid such situations in the future.
