Pakistan assures Chinese investors of full cooperation in health and pharmaceutical sectors
Pakistan has assured Chinese investors that they will be provided with every possible facility and protection for investment in the country's health and pharmaceutical sectors. This assurance was given during a high-level meeting held in Islamabad, aimed at further strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
Government officials state that Pakistan intends to modernize its pharmaceutical industry to promote the local manufacturing of medicines. The involvement of Chinese companies will not only enable the transfer of modern technology but will also help in reducing medicine prices and improving quality within the country.
Under this plan, consideration is also being given to providing incentives to Chinese investors in special economic zones. According to officials, investment in the health sector will create new employment opportunities in Pakistan and improve public access to healthcare facilities.
This cooperation between Pakistan and China is part of the second phase of CPEC, which is now focusing more on industrial and social development. Representatives of both countries reiterated their commitment to overcoming challenges in the health sector through mutual cooperation.
This partnership is being termed as an important step for Pakistan's economic recovery. More Chinese delegations are expected to visit Pakistan in the coming months to sign final agreements to implement these projects.
