PIA demands swift delivery of new aircraft from Boeing
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has recently demanded that Boeing accelerate the delivery process of new aircraft during discussions held in Washington. The purpose of this initiative is to modernize the national airline's air services and provide better facilities to passengers.
According to reports, the PIA management is keen to acquire Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Shareholders state that if the negotiations remain positive, Boeing could hand over the first five Dreamliner aircraft to Pakistan in the first half of 2027.
The airline, which is currently undergoing a privatization process, plans to expand its existing fleet. PIA's goal is to more than triple the number of its aircraft in the coming years to further strengthen its international flight network.
This development is part of the efforts to revive PIA and turn it into a profitable entity. The inclusion of modern aircraft will not only improve the airline's performance but will also help Pakistan's aviation industry achieve a better position on the global stage.
