Potential for cooperation between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in IT and telecom sectors
Pakistan and Sri Lanka have begun considering the establishment of a joint working group to promote mutual cooperation in the fields of Information Technology (IT) and telecommunications. The purpose of this initiative is to exchange technical expertise between the two countries and strengthen the digital economy.
During recent meetings, officials from both countries agreed that the IT sector is crucial for economic development in the current era. Through this working group, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will share their experiences with each other, which will help create new employment opportunities for the youth of both nations.
Under this cooperation, special focus will be placed on software development, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and improving telecommunication infrastructure. Officials believe that a technical partnership between the two countries can further enhance digital connectivity in the region.
Experts from both countries will soon prepare a detailed roadmap to finalize the contours of this project. This partnership is being viewed as a significant step toward increasing Pakistan's IT exports, which will also benefit the national economy.
In the future, the private sectors of both countries will also be included to further expand this cooperation. This development will not only strengthen the friendly relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka but will also help both countries improve their positions in the global technology market.
