WHO continues support for polio eradication in Pakistan
Government efforts to eradicate the polio virus in Pakistan have been intensified. The World Health Organization (WHO) has reiterated its commitment to providing full cooperation and technical assistance to Pakistan for the achievement of this vital goal. Officials state that the complete eradication of polio from the country is their top priority.
Special anti-polio campaigns are underway across the country, during which millions of children are being administered polio drops. According to health experts, the purpose of these campaigns is to completely stop the transmission of the virus so that every child can be protected from this disease in the future.
Representatives of the World Health Organization have praised these efforts by Pakistan, stating that the role of frontline workers is extremely important for the eradication of polio. The government and international organizations are working together to reach areas where there is a risk of polio cases or where access to vaccinations is difficult.
Although Pakistan has achieved a significant reduction in polio cases, continuous monitoring is required to stop the spread of the virus. Parents are appealed to ensure that their children under the age of five receive polio drops during every campaign so that the country can be made free of this disease.
These final efforts by Pakistan to eradicate polio have also become a focus of attention at the international level. Government officials are hopeful that with the cooperation of the public and the support of international organizations, Pakistan will soon join the list of polio-free countries.
