Curbing Illegal Immigration: Pakistan Emphasizes Global Strategy
During a global forum held in Vienna, Pakistan has called for the adoption of a joint global strategy to curb illegal immigration. Pakistani officials state that modern technology and international cooperation are essential to resolving this issue.
According to government data, a significant 47 percent decrease in the number of illegal immigrants traveling to Europe was observed during the year 2025. This success was made possible as a result of a nationwide crackdown, during which more than 1,700 individuals involved in human smuggling were arrested.
At the meeting in Vienna, Pakistan emphasized that human smuggling is a serious global challenge that requires all countries to work together to address. Pakistan proposed the use of modern technology for border surveillance to dismantle human smuggling networks.
The Government of Pakistan is committed to further intensifying its campaign against illegal migration. To this end, not only is legal action being taken, but measures are also being implemented to raise public awareness so that the youth can be prevented from taking dangerous routes.
