Important clarification regarding travel on NICOP for Overseas Pakistanis
The Government of Pakistan has refuted rumors circulating regarding travel for Pakistanis living abroad. Authorities state that Pakistani citizens holding a NICOP can continue to travel to Pakistan without a visa.
For the past few days, news had been circulating on social media that the rules for traveling on a NICOP for Pakistanis holding British passports had been changed. These rumors had caused concern among overseas Pakistanis.
The Ministry of Interior and relevant authorities have clarified that the NICOP facility remains in place as before. Pakistanis who possess a valid NICOP do not require any separate visa for entry into Pakistan.
Authorities have appealed to the public not to pay attention to such unverified news. For any kind of travel information, one should only rely on official websites or announcements from the relevant embassies.
This clarification is a major relief for overseas Pakistanis, who frequently visit their homeland. This step by the government reflects its commitment to facilitating travel for overseas Pakistanis.
