Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's Address at the 'Maarka-e-Haq' Ceremony: Discussion on Ceasefire with India
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed a special ceremony in Islamabad on the occasion of the first anniversary of 'Maarka-e-Haq'. The purpose of this ceremony was to commemorate the military events of last May and the successes of the Pakistani forces. In his address, the Prime Minister paid a tremendous tribute to the services of the Pakistan Armed Forces for the defense of the country.
During his speech, the Prime Minister stated that Pakistan gave a full and historic response to the aggression carried out by India last year. He claimed that this stern military response from Pakistan forced India to request a ceasefire. According to the Prime Minister, this incident was the result of Pakistan's defensive power and timely action.
Shehbaz Sharif further added that the Pakistani forces have always protected the country's borders and remain ready to counter any kind of external threat. Praising the professional expertise of the armed forces, he said that the entire nation stands with its army and holds their sacrifices in high regard.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that Pakistan desires peace and stability in the region but will not make any compromise on its sovereignty and national security. He said that Pakistan's peacefulness should not be considered its weakness because the country knows very well how to defend itself.
High-ranking government officials and military leadership also attended this ceremony held in Islamabad. This event was organized at a time when Pakistan is highlighting its defensive achievements and striving to spread the message of peace at the global level.
