Independence Day celebrated with traditional fervor across Pakistan

The 77th Independence Day was celebrated with great national zeal and fervor across Pakistan on August 14. The day began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital, Islamabad, and 21-gun salutes in the provincial capitals. Special prayers were offered in mosques across the country for national security, progress, and prosperity.

Independence Day celebrations were held in all small and large cities of the country, including Karachi. Government buildings, homes, and highways were decorated with national flags, decorative lights, and buntings. Citizens came out on the streets in large numbers to celebrate Independence Day and expressed their joy by waving national flags from their vehicles.

A dignified change of guard ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi, where a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Navy assumed the duties of honorary guard. On this occasion, a large number of citizens visited Mazar-e-Quaid and paid tribute to the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Various events were organized by educational institutions, government offices, and private organizations across the country, where national songs were performed and the sacrifices of the leaders of the Pakistan Movement were remembered through speeches. In view of security, police and law enforcement agencies had made strict security arrangements in all major cities.

This Independence Day is a day of renewal of commitment for the Pakistani nation to work together for the country's progress and stability. The day-long celebrations concluded late at night with spectacular fireworks displays, which illuminated the atmosphere with colorful lights.
