$1.7 Billion Health Sector Agreements Between Pakistan and China
Pakistan and China have made significant progress in promoting cooperation in the health sector. During a recently held Business-to-Business (B2B) conference, agreements worth $1.7 billion were signed between private companies from both countries.
The primary objective of these agreements is to modernize health facilities in Pakistan and facilitate the exchange of technology in the medical field. This investment will specifically focus on the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare sectors.
Under this partnership, new projects will be launched in Pakistan for the manufacturing of vaccines, biologics, and advanced medical equipment. Experts believe that this initiative will boost Pakistan's local pharmaceutical industry and make the provision of affordable and high-quality medicines to the public possible.
These agreements are considered part of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which now places greater emphasis on industry and technology. This will not only lead to improvements in the health sector but will also create new employment opportunities in Pakistan.
The Government of Pakistan has termed these agreements a positive step for the country's economic development. It is expected that the implementation of these projects will enable Pakistan's medical industry to align itself with international standards and move toward self-reliance in the health sector.
