Pakistan Navy's plan to manufacture submarines locally
The Pakistan Navy has announced a long-term strategy under which modern conventional submarines will be manufactured locally in the country. The purpose of this project is to make Pakistan's defense capabilities self-reliant and to further strengthen the protection of its maritime boundaries.
This decision has been taken following the induction of Hangor-class submarines. The new locally-made submarines will replace the aging Agosta-class submarines, which have been a part of the Pakistan Navy for a long time. This initiative will not only boost the domestic defense industry but will also reduce reliance on foreign technology.
However, experts say that the completion of this project may face some technical challenges. The development of a modern submarine requires complex technology and expertise, for which Pakistan needs to further modernize its industrial capabilities.
The Pakistan Navy is committed to completing this project successfully. If this project succeeds, it will prove to be a significant milestone in Pakistan's defense history and will lead to a notable increase in the country's maritime power.
