Five-day anti-polio campaign begins in Balochistan
A new anti-polio campaign has been launched in Pakistan's Balochistan province to protect children from the polio virus. According to officials, the primary objective of this campaign is to administer polio drops to millions of children across various districts of the province.
This five-day campaign is being conducted in Quetta, Pishin, Chaman, and other sensitive areas. During this drive, health workers will go door-to-door to administer polio drops to children under the age of five in order to eradicate this disease from its roots.
Health department officials have stated that the target of this campaign is to provide vaccines to approximately 300,000 children. For this purpose, teams have been formed that are taking all necessary safety measures to reach children in the designated areas.
The government has appealed to parents to ensure their children receive polio drops so that they can be protected from lifelong disability. Special arrangements have also been made for the security of polio teams to ensure the campaign is completed peacefully.
Pakistan is among the few countries in the world where polio cases are still reported. The government and international organizations are making continuous efforts for the complete eradication of this disease so that Pakistan can be made a polio-free country.
