Lahore High Court suspends order for the return of Afghan medical students
In a significant judicial decision, the Lahore High Court has suspended the directive issued by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) that ordered Afghan medical students to return to their country. This court ruling has brought great relief to the students who are completing their education at various medical institutions across Pakistan.
The petition filed in court argued that the PMDC's decision is detrimental to the students' academic future and could severely disrupt their studies. The petitioners stated that these students have spent crucial years of their education in Pakistan, and sending them back abruptly is unfair to their careers.
After hearing arguments from both parties, the court has halted the implementation of the PMDC's order. The court has sought a response from the relevant authorities on this matter so that a permanent and legal solution can be found. Following this order, Afghan students will now be able to stay in Pakistan to continue their education.
This decision is of utmost importance to the students and their families who wish to complete their medical degrees in Pakistan. Currently, the judicial proceedings are ongoing, and it is hoped that the matter will be fully resolved in the next hearings so that the students can focus on their education without fear.
