Inflation Rate Decreases in Pakistan: Inflation Drops to 11.1% in June
According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), a slight decrease in the country's inflation rate has been observed. In the month of June, the consumer inflation rate dropped to 11.1%. This news is significant for citizens who have been troubled by rising prices for a long time.
Comparing it to the previous month, the inflation rate in May was recorded at 11.7%. This means that the pace of inflation has decreased by 0.6% within one month. Economic experts are calling this a positive change as it is the second consecutive month that the inflation rate has come down.
According to the report, the major reason for this decrease in inflation is the recent reduction in the prices of electricity and petroleum products. Additionally, the stability of prices for some basic commodities in global and local food markets has also benefited general consumers. Stability in the prices of vegetables and pulses, in particular, has helped keep this rate low.
Although the inflation rate has decreased, experts say that prices are still beyond the purchasing power of many people. They believe that while the pace of inflation has slowed down, the prices of everyday items are still significantly higher compared to previous years. Therefore, it may still take time for the common man to fully benefit from this reduction.
The government and economic institutions are keeping a close eye on the situation. It is hoped that if oil prices in the global market remain stable and local production increases, inflation could decrease further in the coming months. This is expected to improve the overall economic situation of the country.
