Decision to tighten security for Chinese projects and citizens in Pakistan
The government of Pakistan has decided to further tighten security arrangements for the protection of Chinese citizens and projects working in the country. This decision has been made in view of recent security concerns and threats, in order to provide complete protection to Chinese experts and projects.
According to officials, the number of security personnel is being increased, especially in areas where Chinese companies are working on mining and other development projects. The purpose of this measure is to prevent any untoward incident and to secure the economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Security agencies have been directed to maintain strict surveillance during the movement of Chinese citizens and to improve the security perimeter around their residential areas. In addition, the local administration has also been instructed to ensure the implementation of the security plan.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) holds an important position in the relations between Pakistan and China, under which several major projects are underway. The government says that the protection of Chinese experts is the top priority for the completion of these projects, and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.
Strict implementation of these new security measures will begin in the coming days. The government is committed to providing a safe environment for foreign citizens investing in the country so that the journey of economic development can continue without interruption.
