Bilawal Bhutto Zardari demands increased constitutional powers for Azad Kashmir

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while addressing a ceremony in Muzaffarabad, has demanded more constitutional powers for Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that empowering the Kashmiri people to manage their own affairs is a crucial need of the hour.

In his speech, Bilawal Bhutto proposed the abolition of the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs. He stated that instead of the existence of this ministry at the federal level, the government of Azad Kashmir should be autonomous so that they can make their own decisions.

The PPP Chairman further added that it is his party's commitment to provide the people of Azad Kashmir with basic rights and equal opportunities for development. He also stressed that sustainable development in the region is not possible without strengthening Kashmiris politically and economically.

This proposal has sparked a debate in political circles. Analysts believe that this move could bring a new change in the relationship between the federation and Azad Kashmir; however, a final decision on this will only be possible through consultation with constitutional experts and all political parties.
