Eid al-Adha Festival in Pakistan: A Message of Peace and Brotherhood
Today, the festival of Eid al-Adha is being celebrated across Pakistan with traditional religious fervor. Large Eid prayer gatherings were held in all small and large cities of the country, attended by millions of citizens. Eid prayers were offered in mosques, Eidgahs, and open fields, where people prostrated before Allah and prayed for the country's progress.
During the prayers, special supplications were made particularly for the peace and security situation in the Middle East and for the safety of Muslims there. Religious scholars, in their sermons, highlighted the importance of sacrifice and the message of selflessness and brotherhood. They emphasized that the poor and needy should also be included in the joys of Eid.
After the performance of Eid prayers, people embraced one another and exchanged Eid greetings. Children and adults alike celebrated this happy occasion to the fullest by wearing new clothes. An atmosphere of joy and happiness was visible everywhere, and people visited the homes of their relatives and loved ones.
Following this, the process of animal sacrifice began in accordance with the Sunnah of Ibrahim. Citizens sacrificed cows, goats, and camels according to their means. The sacrificial meat was not only kept for their own homes but was also distributed among relatives and especially among deserving individuals so that they too could participate in the Eid festivities.
Special arrangements for cleanliness have been made by the government and local administration. Garbage collection vehicles are present at various locations in the cities so that the waste generated after the sacrifice can be cleared immediately. Additionally, strict security arrangements have been implemented to ensure that citizens can celebrate Eid in a peaceful and safe environment.
