Important clarification by PM&DC regarding MDCAT 2026
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has clarified its responsibilities regarding the conduct of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026. The Council states that its primary objective is to make the medical admission process across the country transparent and standardized.
According to Council officials, the purpose of the MDCAT examinations is to assess the capabilities of students so that only candidates who meet the merit criteria can gain admission into the medical field. To improve this process, the Council is considering the use of modern technology and better administrative procedures.
It should be noted that in the past, various questions have been raised by students and parents regarding the methodology of conducting the MDCAT. The PM&DC has assured that all concerns will be addressed in the 2026 examination and that the examination process will be made more cohesive.
Students are advised not to pay attention to any kind of rumors and to follow only the instructions issued on the Council's official website. The Council will soon announce further details regarding the syllabus and test schedule so that students can start their preparations in a timely manner.
These measures are an effort to raise the standard of medical education in Pakistan. It is hoped that these reforms will not only simplify the admission process but also provide the next generation of doctors in the country with a better and fairer educational environment.
