New travel regulations announced for entry into Pakistan
The government of Pakistan has introduced significant changes to travel regulations for overseas Pakistanis. Entering Pakistan will now be different for dual citizens, as authorities have banned travel on old or expired identity cards.
According to the new rules, if a Pakistani-origin foreign national's National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) has expired, they will not be able to use that card to enter Pakistan. The government states that this decision has been made to make the immigration process more transparent and organized.
The purpose of this change is to expedite the immigration process at airports and improve security. Authorities have directed all overseas Pakistanis to ensure the renewal of their identity cards before traveling.
Passengers who do not possess valid and active identity cards will not be granted entry into Pakistan. Therefore, all concerned individuals are advised to update their documents in a timely manner to avoid any inconvenience.
