Alarming rise in HIV cases among children in Karachi
In Pakistan's largest city, Karachi, a rapid increase in the number of HIV cases among children has been observed recently. According to medical experts, approximately 140 children have fallen victim to this virus, which has caused concern among health authorities and international organizations.
Investigations have revealed that the primary cause of this situation is the unsafe and unsterilized nature of medical equipment. The reuse of the same syringes or instruments in many clinics and hospitals has become a serious threat to children's health. Experts state that this negligence is the biggest source of the spread of this disease among children.
Medical experts have warned parents to choose only authentic and registered hospitals for their children's treatment. Furthermore, during any medical procedure, ensure that the syringes and other instruments being used are brand new and sterilized.
In view of this situation, the government and the health department are being urged to strictly monitor private clinics. Implementing international standards for the cleaning and sterilization of medical equipment has now become a critical need of the hour so that more children can be protected from this disease in the future.
