New Measures for Inflation Reduction and Agricultural Improvement in Pakistan
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the inflation rate in the country saw a slight decrease in the month of June. This rate has now dropped from 11.7 percent to 11.1 percent. The main reason for this decline is the stability in electricity and food prices. This news is a positive sign for citizens who have been under economic pressure for a long time due to rising prices.
In the agricultural sector, Pakistan has achieved a significant success at the international level. For the first time, the country has become a permanent member of the 'International Olive Council,' which is expected to increase local olive production and exports. Along with this, the government is also considering increasing 'Canola' cultivation with the cooperation of Canada. This initiative aims to reduce the heavy burden of 5 billion dollars spent on the import of edible oil and to meet the oil requirements at the local level.
To ensure food security, Pakistan has emphasized the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern digital technology at the global level. On the other hand, Chinese buyers have shown deep interest in Pakistani snacks and other food products. This trade expansion under CPEC will promote local industries and make an increase in Pakistan's exports possible.
The World Bank and economic experts state that Pakistan needs a comprehensive national agricultural policy to avoid a food crisis in the future. According to experts, the use of modern machinery in fields and better investment will not only address food shortages but also create millions of new jobs in the country. Increasing agricultural production to meet the needs of the growing population has now become a critical necessity of the time.
Overall, Pakistan is making efforts for improvement on economic and agricultural fronts. Although the reduction in inflation and international agreements are welcome, rapid implementation of agricultural reforms is essential for sustainable development. These measures will not only strengthen the country's economy but are also expected to improve the standard of living for the common man.
