LNG Price Hike and Health News
There has been a record increase in the prices of LNG (natural gas) in Pakistan, which may lead to an increase in energy costs. In addition, there have been important developments regarding the launch of new programs in the health sector and the spread of HIV among children.
The price of LNG in Pakistan has reached $21.88 per MMBtu, which is a result of disrupted supplies from Qatar due to tensions between Iran and the United States. This increase could lead to a rise in energy costs in the country.
In the health sector, the Punjab government has launched the 'Health Connect Program', which aims to improve the quality of medical services. On the other hand, the World Health Organization (WHO) has provided assistance in stocking medical supplies for 380,000 people to deal with monsoon floods. However, 130 cases of HIV among children have been reported in a government hospital in Karachi, which is a concerning situation.
