Various accidents during recent rains in Punjab: Two dead and nine injured

In various cities across Punjab province, two people have died and nine others have been injured in accidents resulting from the recent monsoon rains. According to rescue sources, these accidents mostly occurred due to roof collapses and electrocution. The deceased belonged to different districts, while the injured have been shifted to hospitals for immediate medical treatment.

According to the report, intermittent rainfall has been continuing since last night, causing water to accumulate in several low-lying areas. The most affected areas include rural locations where mud houses were damaged. Rescue teams stated that they are continuing relief operations in the affected areas to assist stranded people.

Due to the heavy rains, the traffic system in the province's major cities has also been severely affected. Severe difficulties are being faced in the movement of vehicles due to standing water on the roads. Additionally, power supply has been suspended in several areas due to electricity feeders tripping, causing difficulties for citizens in their daily routines.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert, instructing citizens to exercise caution. Authorities stated that people should stay away from electricity poles, wires, and dilapidated buildings to avoid further loss of life or property. The administration has ordered all relevant institutions to remain on high alert to deal with any emergency situation immediately.

The Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in various parts of Punjab over the next twenty-four hours. Citizens have been appealed to avoid unnecessary travel and stay informed about the latest weather conditions. Efforts by the administration to speed up drainage work are also underway.
