Pakistan Top News: Explosion in Lakki Marwat, Judicial Proceedings, and Eid Moon

A tragic incident occurred in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where at least seven people were killed and more than 18 injured as a result of a powerful explosion. The blast took place near a rickshaw in a busy market in Sarai Naurang. Among those killed were two traffic police officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Immediately after the explosion, an emergency was declared in local hospitals to provide prompt medical aid to the injured. Police and security forces cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation into the incident. According to eyewitnesses, the explosion was so intense that its sound was heard far and wide, and nearby shops were also damaged.

Regarding judicial news, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued directives to the Islamabad High Court to quickly decide on the sentence suspension petitions of human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband Hadi Ali Chattha. A three-member bench headed by Justice Waheed heard the case and emphasized accelerating the judicial process.

During the hearing, lawyers informed the court that delays in the hearing of appeals were causing difficulties for their clients. The Supreme Court also discussed the legal procedures regarding the suspension of sentences and clarified that unnecessary delays in the delivery of justice should be avoided.

According to religious and social news, Pakistan's space research agency (SUPARCO) has predicted that the moon for Zil-Hajj 1447 AH is likely to be sighted on the evening of May 17. Following this prediction, preparations for Eid-ul-Adha are expected to begin across the country, which is a major religious festival for Muslims.

The final decision on the sighting of the moon will be made at the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. The month of Zil-Hajj holds great significance in the Islamic calendar as Muslims perform the pilgrimage of Hajj during this month and sacrifice animals in accordance with the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S).

Today's news reflects the country's security situation, the performance of the legal system, and the importance of religious traditions. While the entire nation is saddened by the Lakki Marwat incident, judicial decisions and news of the upcoming religious festival have also remained the focus of public attention.
