Pakistan's Robust Response Forced India into Ceasefire: PM Shehbaz Sharif
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed a special ceremony in Islamabad held on the occasion of the first anniversary of 'Maarka-e-Haq'. The purpose of the event was to commemorate the military events of last May and Pakistan's defensive successes. In his address, the Prime Minister held an important discussion regarding national defense and security.
During his speech, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that when an attempt at aggression was made by India last year, Pakistan's armed forces gave a robust and historic response. He claimed that this tough reaction from Pakistan forced India to request a ceasefire.
The Prime Minister praised the professional expertise and bravery of the Pakistani forces, stating that the country's defense is in strong hands. He added that the success of 'Maarka-e-Haq' is proof that the Pakistani nation and army are always ready to face any external threat.
High-ranking government officials and military leadership also attended the ceremony. Speakers emphasized that Pakistan is a peaceful country but knows very well how to protect its borders. During the ceremony, the sacrifices of the martyrs were also remembered and tributes were paid to them.
At the conclusion of his speech, the Prime Minister reiterated the resolve that Pakistan desires peace and stability in the region. However, he made it clear that no compromise would be made on national sovereignty. He gave a message to the nation that unity and a strong defense are the guarantees of the country's progress and survival.
