Need for a Modern Storage Network for Food Security in Pakistan
The establishment of warehouses equipped with modern technology has become a critical need of the hour to ensure food security in Pakistan. Officials state that a network of modern silos will be established to store grain in order to prevent crop wastage.
According to Saif-ur-Rehman, these proposed warehouses will be equipped with advanced systems to control temperature and humidity. In addition, automated monitoring and modern fumigation methods will be used to protect stored grain from insects and spoilage.
The primary objective of this project is to ensure the supply of wheat and other commodities in the country throughout all seasons. The use of modern technology will not only improve the quality of grain but will also help in overcoming issues of hoarding and wastage.
Experts believe that such measures will strengthen Pakistan's agricultural economy. Thanks to modern storage facilities, farmers will be able to receive better compensation for their crops, and concerns regarding food shortages in the country will also be reduced.
The government has expressed its commitment to working on this project so that goals for food self-sufficiency can be achieved in the future. This initiative could prove to be a significant step toward modernizing Pakistan's agricultural sector.
