Country suffers daily economic loss of 120 billion rupees due to protests and strikes
Pakistan's Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has warned that the ongoing political protests, sit-ins, and strikes in the country are causing severe damage to the national economy. According to him, such activities could lead to a massive daily loss of approximately 120 billion rupees to the national economy.
The Finance Minister emphasized that Pakistan is currently striving toward economic stability, and in such circumstances, uncertainty is detrimental to the country. He stated that peace and continuity of work are essential for economic growth, as strikes bring business activities to a halt.
According to government data, when roads are blocked or sit-ins are held, the supply of commercial goods is disrupted and factories are unable to operate properly. This has a direct impact on the life of the common man and the country's exports, which also raises the risk of increased inflation.
The Finance Minister has appealed to political parties and the public to keep the national interest in mind. He said that all stakeholders need to work together to overcome economic difficulties so that Pakistan's financial situation can be improved.
Government efforts for future economic improvement are ongoing; however, political stability is a crucial part of this process. Experts also believe that if there is political calm in the country, investor confidence will increase and the economy will be able to grow rapidly.
