Islamabad: Emergency situation in hospitals in view of PTI protest

In view of the expected protest by the political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad, government hospitals in the city have been put on high alert. The administration has issued instructions to the hospitals to remain fully prepared to deal with any emergency situation.

According to reports, hospitals have been directed to keep beds vacant for patients and ensure the presence of medical staff. The administration's objective is to make the provision of immediate medical aid possible in the event of any untoward incident or 'large-scale loss of life'.

Under this initiative, emergency wards in hospitals are being equipped with additional medicines and medical equipment. Leaves for doctors and paramedical staff have also been cancelled so that immediate action can be taken in any emergency situation during the protest.

On the other hand, strict security arrangements have been made in the city and main highways have been closed by placing containers. Officials say that these steps have been taken to ensure the safety of citizens and to maintain law and order.

Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and to follow the instructions of the security forces. The situation is being monitored in order to prevent any kind of humanitarian crisis.
