BISP and International Organizations Sign Major Agreement to Eradicate Malnutrition in Pakistan
An important step has been taken to improve the health of pregnant women and children in Pakistan. The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has launched a new project in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and the World Food Programme (WFP). The primary objective of this partnership is to address the serious issue of malnutrition in the country.
Under this new agreement, specialized health and food facilities will be provided to approximately 3.3 million women and children in Pakistan. The program will specifically focus on mothers who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Additionally, necessary medical measures will be taken for the better development of young children to protect them from diseases.
Health experts state that a large number of children in Pakistan suffer from malnutrition, which affects their physical and mental development. These international organizations will work with the Government of Pakistan in areas where food shortages are most severe. Through this program, deserving families will be given access to quality food and essential medical aid.
The renewal of this project is expected to bring significant improvements to the health sector in Pakistan. This cooperation between the government and international organizations is crucial not only for the current generation but also for the health of future generations. Such initiatives will help reduce the disease rate in the country and assist in building a healthy society.
