Efforts Intensified to Restore Direct Flights Between Pakistan and the United States
The U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan has expressed strong support for the resumption of direct flights between Pakistan and the United States. This significant step aims to further strengthen tourism, trade, and people-to-people ties between the two countries. According to the Ambassador, the commencement of direct flights will make travel easier and faster for passengers.
It is worth noting that in 2020, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union imposed a ban on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights. Due to this ban, Pakistani passengers have to use airports in other countries to travel to the United States, which increases both travel time and costs.
The U.S. Ambassador stated that the restoration of flights will not only promote tourism but also increase educational and cultural exchanges between the two nations. This will provide great convenience to the Pakistani community, a large number of whom reside in the United States, for traveling to and from their homeland.
Pakistani authorities are currently working hard to improve safety standards in the aviation sector. The government aims to restore the confidence of international organizations so that PIA and other airlines can once again provide their services globally. In this regard, U.S. cooperation is being seen as a positive step.
If these efforts are successful and direct flights resume, it will be a major achievement for Pakistan's economy and aviation industry. This will not only increase foreign exchange but also improve Pakistan's global image.
