Pakistan prepares to build its own submarines
Taking a significant step towards defense self-reliance, the Pakistan Navy has decided to design its own submarines. According to the Chief of Naval Staff, this project has been initiated to modernize the country's naval power and strengthen its defense capabilities.
This project will be launched following the induction of 'Hangor-class' (S26) submarines. The Hangor-class submarines are a key part of the defense cooperation between Pakistan and China and are equipped with advanced technology. The induction of these submarines will significantly enhance the Pakistan Navy's ability to monitor its maritime boundaries.
The objective of designing submarines locally is to reduce reliance on foreign technology and to hone the skills of domestic engineers. This initiative will not only help in balancing the defense budget but will also enable Pakistan to produce submarines according to its own requirements in the future.
Experts say that this step will prove to be a major shift in Pakistan's maritime defense strategy. By building its own submarines, Pakistan will emerge as a strong naval force in the region and will further ensure maritime security.
Work on this project is ongoing by the government and the Navy, which is expected to mark the beginning of a new era in Pakistan's defense sector. This development stands as a milestone for the country's defense industry.
