MDCAT and PMDC Registration Declared Mandatory for Medical Education Abroad

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced new regulations for Pakistani students wishing to pursue medical education abroad. It will now be mandatory for all students to pass the MDCAT exam and register with the PMDC. The primary objective of this decision is to secure the future of Pakistani students and ensure the quality of their education.

According to the new rules and regulations, students who wish to study medicine in any country outside of Pakistan must obtain an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the PMDC before their departure. The council has clarified that only those students who have passed the medical entry test in Pakistan, namely MDCAT, will be able to go abroad. This step will ensure that only eligible students pursue higher education in the medical field.

The PMDC has also advised students to thoroughly verify the reputation and affiliation of any foreign institution before taking admission. Often, due to a lack of information, students enroll in institutions whose degrees are not recognized in Pakistan. Therefore, verifying the institution has now become extremely essential.

The council has further instructed students to obtain a 'multiple-entry visa' for the relevant country so that they do not face any difficulties in traveling during their studies. This type of visa will make it easier for students to travel to and from Pakistan as needed during their education and will keep them safe from legal complications.

Officials state that all these measures have been taken to protect students from any kind of educational or legal problems abroad. The PMDC has urged students and their parents to strictly follow these instructions so that their hard work and investment are not wasted. The implementation of these new laws will help in improving the overall standard of medical education in Pakistan.
