New Efforts to Improve Food Security and Agriculture in Pakistan
Pakistan is currently taking significant steps to improve its agriculture and ensure food security. According to a recent World Bank report, if Pakistan and its neighboring countries adopt the right policies, it could not only eliminate food shortages but also create millions of new jobs in the region. Experts believe that strategic investment is crucial for this purpose.
The Government of Pakistan has emphasized the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern digital technology at a global level to modernize agriculture. Experts state that the country needs a comprehensive agricultural policy to meet the needs of the growing population. In this regard, ensuring the use of modern machinery in fields and the provision of better seeds is a critical need of the hour.
Pakistan's agriculture is also receiving significant recognition at the international level. Pakistan has become a permanent member of the 'International Olive Council' for the first time, which is being considered a major success for olive production and exports. Additionally, Chinese traders have shown deep interest in Pakistani snacks, which is expected to further increase bilateral trade under CPEC.
To introduce Pakistan's culture and cuisine worldwide, an event titled 'Taste of Pakistan' was held in Kuwait. During this event, participants had the opportunity to taste traditional dishes from various regions of Pakistan. Such activities not only present a positive image of Pakistan but also strengthen friendly relations with other countries.
On the other hand, public protests regarding food supply have also been witnessed in some parts of the country, where people are complaining about inflation and food shortages. Addressing these issues and ensuring that affordable and quality food reaches every citizen remains a major challenge for the government.
Overall, Pakistan is focusing on agriculture and international trade to stabilize its economy. If these plans are implemented correctly, Pakistan will not only become self-sufficient in food but will also be able to establish its position in the global market.
