Aleema Khan files petition in Islamabad High Court against Imran Khan's solitary confinement

Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has filed an important petition in the Islamabad High Court. In this petition, she has challenged the act of keeping her brother in 'solitary confinement' in jail. Aleema Khan maintains that Imran Khan is being deprived of basic facilities in prison.

This legal petition was submitted through Barrister Salman Safdar and Salman Akram Raja. The petition alleges that the former prime minister is being kept in solitary confinement without any court order. The lawyers state that this action is a violation of the law and human rights, as every prisoner has certain basic rights.

Aleema Khan further stated in her petition that Imran Khan is not being allowed to meet other people and has been completely isolated. According to her, this behavior of the jail administration is unfair and could have negative effects on Imran Khan's health and mental state.

Imran Khan is currently imprisoned in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail. His political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has previously expressed concerns several times that their leader is not being provided with proper medical facilities and access to lawyers in jail. The government and jail authorities have been denying these allegations.

Now all eyes are on the Islamabad High Court to see what decision it announces on this petition. The hearing of this case is expected in the coming days, after which it will become clear what orders the court issues regarding Imran Khan's meetings and accommodation in jail.
