Imran Khan's sister Aleema Khan detained ahead of Islamabad protest
Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, has been taken into custody by police ahead of a protest march in Islamabad. This arrest has taken place amidst political tension in the capital, where the administration has implemented strict security arrangements.
According to police officials, this action was taken to maintain law and order. The Tehreek-e-Insaf had announced a march towards Islamabad, in view of which various entry and exit points of the city have been blocked by placing containers.
On the other hand, the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has strongly condemned this arrest. A party spokesperson stated that peaceful protest is the democratic right of every citizen and the arrests of workers and leaders by the government are unconstitutional.
Due to the imposition of Section 144 in the city, all types of public gatherings are prohibited. The Islamabad administration has appealed to citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, while an unusual situation is also being observed in educational institutions and business centers.
Regarding the future, political analysts say that this growing tension between the government and the opposition is a major challenge for the country's political stability. The public is now keeping a close watch on which direction this political situation turns in the coming days.
