Boosting Pakistan's Economy: Plan to Establish a New Apparel Hub in Karachi
The Government of Pakistan has decided to establish a modern 'Apparel Hub' in Karachi to increase the country's exports. The primary objective of this project is to modernize the textile and garment industry so that the demand for Pakistani products can be increased in international markets.
The proposed hub will span an area of 400 acres near Port Qasim. According to officials, work on the first phase of this project will begin soon. The establishment of this hub will not only increase production capacity but will also create thousands of new employment opportunities at the local level.
The government expects that upon completion of this project, an increase of up to $2.2 billion in Pakistan's annual exports will be possible. This initiative is considered a significant step toward stabilizing the national economy and increasing foreign exchange reserves, which will open new avenues for investment in the textile sector.
