Sri Lanka ready to host sports between Pakistan and India
The Sri Lankan Sports Minister recently issued a statement in which he offered to host sports competitions between Pakistan and India. He stated that Sri Lanka is fully prepared to organize cricket or other sports matches between the two countries.
According to the Sri Lankan minister, improving sports relations between the two countries is important for peace and friendship in the region. He added that this initiative will not only help in the promotion of sports but will also benefit Sri Lanka's tourism industry.
Due to political tensions between Pakistan and India, bilateral cricket series have not been possible between the two countries for the past several years. Both teams only face each other in major ICC tournaments or competitions like the Asia Cup.
This offer from Sri Lanka comes at a time when sports fans are eager to see more matches between the two countries. Sri Lanka believes that as a neutral venue, it can prove to be an excellent host for competitions between the two teams.
So far, no official response has been received from the cricket boards of Pakistan and India regarding this offer. However, sports experts believe that such efforts could prove helpful in improving relations between the two countries in the future.
