New measures needed to develop Pakistan's IT industry
A significant event was recently held at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), where ways to take Pakistan's IT industry to the global level were discussed. Experts, industry leaders, and students participated in this session to examine the challenges and opportunities facing this sector.
During the event, experts emphasized that there is immense potential for growth in Pakistan's IT sector. However, to turn this potential into reality, there is a need for modern technology, better infrastructure, and the enhancement of youth skills. The speakers stated that if the government and the private sector work together, Pakistan can significantly increase its IT exports.
Another key point of discussion was that Pakistan must modernize its policies to remain competitive in the global market. This includes tax exemptions, the establishment of IT parks, and providing a favorable environment for software development. According to the experts, through modern education and practical training, the youth can be prepared according to global standards.
The purpose of this session was not only to identify problems but also to find practical solutions so that Pakistan's economy can be aligned with the demands of the digital age. The participants agreed that the IT industry serves as a backbone for Pakistan's future and that investing in it is a crucial need of the hour.
In conclusion, it was agreed that establishing close ties between educational institutions and the industry is essential. Such initiatives will not only create new employment opportunities but will also help Pakistan emerge as a strong IT hub on the global stage.
