Israel and Lebanon Reject US Claim of Troop Withdrawal from Southern Lebanon
Recently, the United States claimed that the Israeli military is withdrawing from Southern Lebanon. However, both Israel and Lebanon have denied this claim. This situation has further complicated the ongoing tension in the region and raised questions about peace efforts.
US officials stated that Israel decided to withdraw its troops as a gesture of "good faith." According to Washington, the aim of this move was to advance ceasefire efforts and pave the way for peace in the region. But recent statements from Israel and Lebanon have proven this impression wrong.
The Israeli government has clarified that it is not withdrawing its troops yet. Tel Aviv says that the matter of troop withdrawal is linked to the disarmament of Hezbollah. According to Israel, as long as security threats exist on the border and Hezbollah does not stop its activities, the army will remain there.
On the other hand, Lebanon has also rejected the US claim. Lebanese officials say they have not seen any such change in the movement of the Israeli army on the border that would prove they are withdrawing. According to Lebanon, the Israeli army still maintains its positions in the southern regions.
Currently, the situation in the region is quite uncertain, and tension between the two countries persists. Although the US is making efforts at the diplomatic level to reduce tension, the tough stance of both parties shows that reaching an agreement is still a difficult challenge. The international community is keeping a close eye on this matter to prevent the situation from deteriorating further.
