Kite String Accidents in Pakistan: Two Children Affected in Lahore and Karachi

Accidents caused by kite strings have once again seen an increase in various cities of Pakistan. Recently, two tragic incidents occurred in Lahore and Karachi, where young children were severely affected. Despite the government's ban, the dangerous sport of kite flying continues, becoming a major threat to the lives of innocent citizens.

In the Valencia Town area of Lahore, a ten-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a lethal kite string. The child was traveling on the road when a stray string suddenly slit his throat. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical aid, where doctors described his condition as critical. This incident has once again sparked public concern over the use of illegal and chemical-coated strings in the city.

A similar heartbreaking incident took place in the Liaquatabad area of Karachi. Here, in Bandhani Colony, a ten-year-old boy lost his life due to a kite string slitting his throat. According to the police report, the child was riding a motorcycle when the accident occurred. Due to the deep wound, he could not survive and passed away before reaching the hospital.

The administration and police have intensified the crackdown against illegal kite flying and manufacturers of dangerous strings. Raids have been conducted in various areas, leading to several arrests and the seizure of kites. Authorities have appealed to citizens to refrain from this "bloody sport" and keep their children away from it to prevent such loss of precious lives in the future.
