Juntos por el Perú organizes a fundraiser to finance its legal defense
The secretary general of the political party Juntos por el Perú, Ernesto Zunini, has recently announced the purpose of a new fundraising effort within his organization. According to the leader, the money obtained through this citizen collection will be used exclusively to finance the party's legal defense in the current electoral context.
This decision arises following the filing of various appeals related to the voting results. Specifically, the Special Electoral Jury (JEE) of Lima Centro 2 referred a total of 647 electoral records that are under review to the National Jury of Elections (JNE). The party seeks to ensure that its legal interests are protected during this technical and administrative process.
Zunini defended the transparency of this economic initiative and explained that the resources are necessary to cover legal fees. For the political organization, it is fundamental to have the financial support of its followers to face the legal challenges presented by the electoral authorities in this final stage of the count.
The National Jury of Elections is the highest authority in these cases, and its decision will be final regarding the outcome of the challenged records. For this reason, Juntos por el Perú considers the defense of the 647 polling stations a priority to ensure that every vote is counted correctly. The legal process requires a constant investment that the party seeks to cover with these donations.
Finally, the party hopes that the JNE's resolution will be fair and issued as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the fundraiser will remain active to receive support from its sympathizers. This type of financing is a practice that occurs when parties face complex judicial or electoral processes that exceed their ordinary budgets.
