The JNE Calls for Hearings to Review the Annulment of Polling Stations

Peru's National Jury of Elections (JNE) has taken an important step in the current electoral process. The tribunal officially summoned representatives of the political parties Juntos por el Perú and Fuerza Popular to participate in a series of public hearings.

The objective of these meetings is to review requests for the annulment of various polling stations. In total, the tribunal will analyze the situation of 1,751 stations in the city of Lima and 647 stations set up abroad. These reviews are fundamental to ensuring that all votes are valid and the process is transparent.

The hearings are scheduled for next Friday, June 19. The JNE Plenary has already issued official notifications to the legal representatives of both political groups. During these sessions, party representatives will be able to present their arguments and defenses before the jury's magistrates.

This procedure is a standard part of Peruvian elections when there are questions regarding the voting records. The JNE's work seeks to provide clarity and confidence to citizens regarding the final vote count at a time of great political importance.

Once the tribunal finishes reviewing all the contested stations, the electoral body will be able to move toward the proclamation of the official results. This step is necessary to formally conclude the voting process and determine the country's political future.
