Huancavelica: A bull has been trapped for 20 days by the rising Mantaro River
In the Huancavelica region of Peru, a 400-kilogram bull is in a critical situation after being trapped for 20 days near the banks of the Mantaro River. The emergency began when the river's flow suddenly increased, leaving the animal isolated in a small area of land from which it cannot escape on its own.
Rolando Bazán, the son of the animal's owner, has expressed deep distress over the bull's life. According to Bazán, the family has tried various ways to rescue it, but the force of the water and the difficult terrain have made these tasks impossible to carry out without professional help. The animal belongs to a local family that depends on their livestock for survival.
The passage of time is the greatest challenge in this situation. Although the bull has managed to survive for nearly three weeks in that spot, there is constant concern about its feeding and the possibility that the river level might rise even further due to the rains. The geography of the Peruvian Andes complicates any manual rescue attempt, increasing the risk for the animal.
Out of desperation, the family has formally requested help from the Regional Government of Huancavelica. Through the Rotafono news service, they have asked for the intervention of specialized rescue teams or the use of heavy machinery to safely evacuate the bull. Bazán hopes that the authorities will hear his call before a tragedy occurs.
For now, the bull remains trapped while the local community closely follows the news. This case has generated great concern among the area's residents, who hope that the authorities act quickly to save the animal and return it to its owners as soon as possible.
