Juntos por el Perú requests the annulment of more than 600 polling stations in the United States
The political party Juntos por el Perú has filed a formal request to annul more than 600 polling stations located in the United States. This measure was taken after the second round of the presidential elections, following the detection of alleged irregularities in the electoral process carried out abroad.
According to the complaint filed by the party, several consular officials and polling station members allegedly influenced voters' decisions directly. The accusation states that these individuals guided votes in favor of the Fuerza Popular party, which would represent a serious breach of the neutrality that authorities must maintain during elections.
The formal request was submitted to the corresponding electoral authorities for detailed analysis. Juntos por el Perú maintains that there is sufficient evidence to invalidate the results of these specific polling stations, arguing that the behavior of those responsible for the voting did not comply with the legal norms established to guarantee a fair process.
Currently, Peruvian electoral bodies are evaluating the documentation and evidence presented before issuing a final resolution. This case has captured public attention, as the results from these polling stations abroad could influence the final vote count of Peruvian citizens living outside the country.
