JNE and the Public Prosecutor's Office coordinate security measures for the second electoral round
The National Jury of Elections (JNE) and the Public Prosecutor's Office of Peru have begun working together for the upcoming second electoral round. Both institutions recently met to plan security and prevention measures. The main objective of this meeting is to ensure that the voting process is peaceful, transparent, and orderly throughout the country.
During the meeting, authorities agreed to prioritize the monitoring of potential territorial conflicts. This means there will be special surveillance in areas where tensions usually occur during electoral processes. The plan includes a coordinated operational deployment that will function constantly before, during, and after the day of the vote.
Additionally, the JNE and the Prosecutor's Office seek to unify their legal and contingency criteria. This is fundamental so that both institutions act under the same rules if any legal or electoral incident occurs. By working together, officials will be able to respond more quickly and efficiently to any irregularities that may arise at polling stations.
Finally, with these preventive actions, Peruvian authorities hope to strengthen citizen confidence in the democratic system. The collaboration between the JNE and the Public Prosecutor's Office is a key piece in protecting the right to vote and guaranteeing social peace during this important day for the country's future.
