Severe Storms Over Poland: IMGW Issues Warnings for 12 Voivodeships
In recent hours, severe storms have passed over the western part of Poland. The most difficult situation is currently in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, especially in the vicinity of Wrocław. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) has issued official warnings for most regions of the country.
Residents of western Poland are struggling with very intense rainfall and strong winds. In the Wrocław area, the storms are exceptionally strong, and subsequent storm cells are moving slowly further into the country. Emergency services are monitoring the situation as the weather is changing very dynamically and may cause local flooding.
IMGW has issued alerts for as many as 12 voivodeships. The warnings apply not only to the west but also to the central and southern parts of Poland. Forecasters predict that dangerous weather phenomena, such as hail or strong wind gusts, may occur within the next few hours across a large area of the country.
Experts are appealing to residents to exercise extreme caution and regularly follow weather reports. It is recommended to secure loose items on balconies and avoid parking cars under trees. Although the situation is expected to improve in the near future, high vigilance should be maintained for now.
