Incident in Polish airspace: Russian missile violated the border
A dangerous incident occurred on the Polish border overnight from Saturday to Sunday. The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported that an unidentified object entered Polish airspace at 3:40 a.m. It was detected by Polish radar systems during a massive Russian missile attack on Ukrainian territory.
The object crossed the border near the town of Oserdów in the Lublin Voivodeship. It remained in Polish airspace for 39 seconds before returning to Ukrainian territory. Throughout the duration of the incident, the object was monitored by Polish military radar systems.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk and representatives of the Ministry of National Defence confirmed that all indications point to it being a Russian cruise missile. In response to the situation, the Polish military took immediate steps to ensure the safety of residents. All air defense forces and assets were put on high alert, and Polish and allied military aircraft were operating in the air.
This is not the first time that Russian military actions against Ukraine have threatened Poland's security. Authorities in Warsaw have announced that they will demand explanations from the Russian side. The situation remains under constant surveillance by the services, and the Polish military assures that the border is continuously monitored to protect the security of the state.
